Going to give this a go...

I've always wanted to blog, just about anything I thought would be cool to share. Today, I thought about when I started this and thought it may be a way to hold me accountable for things I'm trying to accomplish in my life... maybe to use it as a type of chalk-board to jot notes, erase, edit.. and maybe someone will actually read it and hold me to some of things novel (I'm sure) ideas I will have as ramble on this thing..

1. Physical - I've gone up and down on this since college. I was actually in slightly above average shape when I graduated May 2007.. good shape through Fall 2007/Spring 2008.. a little better Summer 2008.. Moved to Jackson = not good. I've been a recreational smoker (see : when drinking) since 2006.. Not sure why I ever picked it up but it's always been a habit that is hard to break.. I've cut back a lot on that but it has not been completely broken. Along those lines, booze has been there and I'm sure I'm carrying a good few extra pounds because of that. I'd say I eat better than most people.

That being said, I've always enjoyed running, and have always thought it would be an experience to run a half-marathon. So, I'm going to set that as a goal. Right now - half marathon.

I don't want to get into weight, how many inches I've taken of my ass. I just want to be able to run 13.1 miles.

2. Mental - I spend 8 to 10 hours a day on a computer. I'm an accountant. It is a challenge, it takes some problem solving ability. I interact with new people every day. But I definitely need to add something here. I read a good bit, stay social, but it's mostly bars. Could I add something here? Of course.

So, I'm going to say, get more active in something socially besides my normal routine. I know, not very concrete, but I think it leaves me open to almost anything. I just have to put my head down and smash forward.

3. Spiritual - I'm not a regular church goer. I'm Catholic and have been forever, I enjoy our traditions and I get a lift every time I attend. But I've always been interested in Buddhist principles and think that could be something I could add to my daily routine. Not convert, but just add a few things, and go from there. I'll research this.

This could probably (and will) change daily. Just a rough draft.

Now forget all this soul searching crap - here is video of a Saints celebration last night.
